Australian regulators fail to regulate nanomaterials in food and agriculture

Nanomaterials are being used in a diverse range of products including food additives, supplements, packaging, sensors and coatings; sprays, and vitamins for livestock; pesticides and anti-microbial storage facilities…In Australia, there are virtually no restrictions on the import of nanomaterials or products containing nanomaterials and nano products can be purchased easily from overseas. Everything from dishwashers that release nano-silver to nano baby bottles, cutlery and cutting boards can be imported.
